Do I need dance shoes?
If you’re planning on dancing regularly (even if 1-2 times a month), dance shoes will make your life significantly easier. Good dance shoes help you to balance and manipulate the foot better. Dance shoe soles are designed to allow you to get the right amount of grip without stressing your joints.
Are BAESSA dance shoes handmade?
Yes, all our shoe products are handmade in Spain.
What materials are used in BAESSA dance shoes?
We are using many different types and grades of leather and suede as well as best quality fabrics like satin, canvas etc.
Do I need to set up an account to place an order?
No, you can shop at BAESSA without creating an account.
What shoe size shall I order? My normal shoe size, bigger or smaller?
We recommend to select 1 shoe size smaller than your normal size, but fitting is necessary for a perfect match. Spanish artisans make shoes according to European sizing, so that means that BAESSA dance shoes have regular fit.
What are the available heel heights?
At the moment BAESSA dance shoes are available in 5 different heel heights: 10,0 cm / 8,5 cm / 7 cm / 7,5 cm / 6,5 cm.
I want a different color/size/sole to what’s available in your stock range, can you get it for me?
Special orders are available only upon request. We do tailor-made orders to suit your needs for a small premium, so please contact us via email to discuss your request.
Which are your methods of payments?
Payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard and PayPal.
What if the shoes don't fit properly or I don't like them?
Please return the shoes as new (unworn) within 14 days of receipt. The dance shoe must be in the same condition as when it was shipped and needs to be returned at your expense. BAESSA reserves the right to refuse a return. If dance shoes are custom made to order, unfortunately, they are non-refundable.
Do BAESSA dance shoes stretch naturally?
BAESSA dance shoes stretch naturally and soften over time. Some materials stretch more than others, specifically:
• SUEDE and NUBUCK stretch the most
• SATIN stretches less than suede
• LEATHER stretches about as much as satin
How do I clean my BAESSA dance shoes?
LEATHER SHOES: Use a damp cloth to clean leather shoes. Small amount of cream polish will preserve the leather.
SUEDE SHOES: Your shoe should be brushed with clean towel or a suede brush. Use short strokes to get the dirt and grind out of the suede. Make sure to run the towel or brush in one direction only.
SATIN & FABRICS SHOES: Take a soft bristled brush and gently brush loose dirt from the shoes. Use wet cloth to polish and a soft cloth to dry your shoes.
GLITTER & CRYSTAL SHOES: Gently wipe shoes with a clean and soft cloth. These shoes are for the special occasions, to be handled with care!
Why should I use a shoe brush?
As you dance, your suede sole collects debris from the floor. The wire shoe brush will clean the sole and bring back the non-slip property of the shoe.
Shoe straps are too long, can I cut them shorter?
Yes, the straps are made extra long to fit anyone’s ankle. They are specially stitched to be cut with regular scissors at an angle.
May BAESSA dance shoes be worn outdoors?
In general we do not recommend wearing our dance shoes outside because of the delicacy of the non-slip soles. The most important thing to remember, never get them wet!
